VODKA MARTINI

Dry, dirty, shaken, or stirred? The vodka martini is a classic cocktail that always impresses. While this elegant drink looks technical, it's actually really easy to make so don't be afraid to give it go.

You'll need:
Our hand-crafted vodka
Dry vermouth of choice
Olives or lemon to serve
Ice and a cocktail mixer to stir in

Pop the ice into a mixing glass, add a 15-30ml of vermouth (depending on how dry you like your martinis), stir to coat the ice and mixing glass, then strain away to the side. Add in 60ml of vodka and give it 50 stirs to make sure it's extra cold. If you like your martini a little dirty this where you can add in some olive brineServe with an olive or keep it fresh with a lemon twist. A martini is a very personal drink so play around with different amounts of vermouth to see what you prefer.

Our pro tip: pop your martini glasses in the freezer at least 15mins before for that next level chilled cocktail experience.

ESPRESSO MARTINI

The secret to the perfect espresso martini? Our signature locally diststilled smooth vodka (of course), shaken with equal parts freshly brewed coffee, and your favourite coffee liqueur. See the recipe below and tell us what you think:

30ml Greater Whitsundays Distillery Vodka
30ml Freshly brewed coffee (straight from the coffee machine is ideal)
30ml Your favourite coffee liqueur (we recommend Kahlua)

Pour into a cocktail shaker and shake it up until ice cold. Pouring into your martini glass of choice, don't forget to shake out that coffee crema for the ultimate finish. Protip: take this one to the next level with a pinch of salt or even some chocolate shavings.

REFRESHING COCKTAIL

STRAWBERRY INFUSED VODKA

Why not make your own fruit infused vodka? It's super easy, requires only a few ingredients and a couple of days of (waiting) time.

With strawberry season in full swing we decided to make some delicious and gorgeous looking strawberry infused vodka (this Dad's favourite over here, so don't tell him and spoil the surprise πŸ™‚) But nearly any other berry will work too, give it a go!

All you need is:

750ml of good quality Vodka

2 teaspoons of caster sugar

approx 600g of ripe and fragrant strawberries (berries will have to still be firm to touch, so not over ripe)

Wash, trim and dry strawberries before cutting them into quarters. Combine vodka and sugar in a large sealable jar and stir until dissolved. Add cut up strawberries (or do it the other way around like me because you can't wait πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ).

Close jar and let it sit in a dark cool place for 3-5 days. Gently shake it up once a day. (The more fragrant the berries, the quicker the vodka will absorb the colour and flavour!) Strain the mixture through a cheese/muslin cloth or coffee filter and keep in a sealed bottle/jar in the fridge for up to 4 months.

Enjoy straight, with your favourite mixers, or in cocktails! PS: We like it best over ice and straight out of the freezer. πŸ“πŸ₯ƒπŸ˜Ž
